This is a head house of Jeongjae Ryu Chimyeong(1777-1861), a successor of Toegye Yi Hwang's research and study.
It was originally located at Handeul(Daepyeong, 大平) in Imdong-myeon, built by his great grandfather Yangpa Ryu Ganheon in Joseon Dynasty King Yeongjo year 11(1735). Afterward it was moved to current location since 1987 after Imha Dam's construction.
The structure is consisted of Daemunchae, Jeongchim Sadang. Jeongchim is a "ㅁ" shaped structure with Anchae and Sarangchae. Sarangchae is in front of Jeongchim, and Anchae is in the back, separated from each other.
Jungmun is the only entrance from Sarangchae to Anchae, located on the right side of structure. Anchae and Sarangchae are independent space. These are traditional structures preserving original condition.
Manujeong Pavilion is built for Ganghakjiso(a place for study) by Jeongjae Ryu Chimyeong who held a high government position called Byeongjochampan. It is a simple structure with front 3 rooms, side 2 rooms, Paljakjibung(the gambrel roof), Hotcheoma(an eave). There are two rooms called Tongganbang on each side, on the right 2 rooms are Wumulmaru, with five pillars.
It was originally located at Aksa 196, Saui-dong, Yimdong-myeon, however relocated to current location in 1988, due to Imha Dam construction.
